A game that was nip-and-tuck until well into the third quarter slipped out of the girls’ grasp as their fatigue increased in Loomis’s meter pool. The extra swimming lengths took their toll, but the team played hard down to last second, coming close to tying the score on successive possessions before the Pelicans sealed their victory.
