Deerfield Earns Road Win Over Loomis
With rain threatening, Deerfield’s varsity girls tennis squad took the short trip down route 91 to Windsor, CT on Saturday to compete with Loomis-Chaffee. Every player had to contend with their opponent as well as the wind– gusting at over 20 mph.
The top doubles match was a great battle. Loomis bested Deerfield in the end by a slim margin. Big Green’s pairings at two and three earned comfortable victories in their contests.
Isha Rao battled back at number one singles after falling behind early. After a narrow first set win, she cruised in the second. Hunter Pulliam dialed in and had an epic battle at two singles, forcing both sets to a twelfth game decision. Olivia Waterfall found great success with her first serve and winning volleys at number three. Kiki Brainard and Avery Brooker earned big wins at six and five singles respectively.
