Despite an almost four-hour bus ride to Greenwich and the absence of one starter, the team persevered and improved from period to period in back-to-back contests against the league’s top two teams. Deerfield’s team defense tightened as the games unfolded, and the girls also began to play with more patience and precision on offense.
