The Deerfield boys JV tennis team (0-3) hosted Andover on a beautiful Saturday afternoon for the first home match of the season on Family Weekend. Despite the setting, the cheering section, and a more complete roster, the team dropped the match, 9-0.
There was a full complement of matches this time, with 3 doubles teams competing and 6 singles matches. Deerfield were in an immediate hole after the doubles matches, dropping all 3 and needed a much better result in the singles matches to have a chance at winning the overall match.

#2 doubles Ashish Sharma ‘24/Gabe Zaccheo ’22 – 2-8
#3 doubles Andy Chen ‘25/Preyas Sinha ’24 – 1-8
The singles matches were more competitive, with Finn Knight ’25 winning a second set before losing a close, third set tie breaker.
#1 singles Willett 0-6, 1-6
#2 singles Cushman 1-6, 3-6
#3 singles Sharma 0-6, 0-6

#5 singles Nikhil Lebaka ’24 0-6, 0-6
