Deerfield came out on top in their season home-opener against St. Mark’s School. It was a back and forth contest with strong play by both teams. Deerfield’s Big Green defense offered a stand-out performance and caused multiple turnovers and possession changes throughout the contest. Offensively, Deerfield created strong scoring opportunities in both halves, and the St. Mark’s goalie came up with several outstanding saves. Ultimately, Deerfield was able to gain possession in the end of the game to secure the win. In the post-game huddle, the Captains awarded Marnie Todd as the ALL HEART player of the game for her tenacious contributions from coast to coast.
