It was a great day on Jim Smith field this past Saturday! A beautiful day for Family Weekend! With a talented and dangerous Taft team coming to town, it took a full team effort to secure the win for the Big Green! Led by Bryce Pang ’22 in the first quarter, our defense held strong to make it difficult for Taft to get anything going. Bryce had 3-4 huge saves off the bat to give us some great momentum and fast break opportunities! We were paced up front by Matty Lazzaro ’22 who used some fancy stick work to dent the Taft defense. There were contributions from many players, but a highlight came from freshman face off man RJ Radonis ’25. RJ battled at the face off dot all day long against an experienced Taft player. With about 2 minutes to go in the game, he was able to shut the door on the Rhinos with a big face off win that led to a massive goal. First of many for young, Radonis! A feel good game for the Big Green! We are back at it down at Loomis on Wednesday.
