Deerfield bounced back and beat Stony Brook by a score of 6-3 on Saturday morning. SP Kiernan Keller was outstanding. He pitched 5 innings and allowed just 1 hit, 1 HBP and struck out 4 batters. Kiernan also made a spectacular catch on a pop up in foul territory near the 3rd base dugout. At the plate Tynan Creagh, Ryan McHugh, and Billy Mrowka each had 2 hits a piece. After Stony Brook tied the game in the top of the 6th inning at 3-3, Tynan Creagh led off the bottom half with a double and McHugh followed that up with an RBI single to CF. Billy Mrowka drove in 2 insurance runs in the same inning with a base hit to CF. McHugh pitched a 1-2-3 7th inning to pick up the win in relief.
