In the fast-paced title game of the Large School tournament, Deerfield Varsity Hockey fell 4-1 to BB&N. Tied 0-0 after the first period, the visitors were able to capitalize on their chances in the second period, and while Emma Gurnell ’22 got us on the scoreboard in the the third, we couldn’t complete the comeback. Though this was not the way we wanted to end our season, this team never quit, and demonstrated resilience at every turn. Our small roster (down to only 13 skaters on Sunday) played with heart and determination, and the coaching staff is so proud of their commitment to their school to each other. A big shout out to our amazing Seniors: Emma, Grace C., Bliss, Jackson, Sara R., Grace D., Sara I-B and Kelly: their leadership carried us through this rollercoaster of a season, and they have left an indelible mark on our program.
