Deerfield hit the road this afternoon to take on Berkshire. Jackson Kinsler ‘22 opened the scoring in the first period (assists to Sam Olander ‘23 and Mia Goetzke ‘24). Goetzke doubled our lead on the power play in the second period (assists to Annie Dinges ‘24 and Lauryn Broecker ‘23) before Berkshire responded with a power play goal of their own. In the third, Dinges finished off a beautiful pass from Kinsler, and Grace Caligiuri ‘22 shut the door the rest of the way, and the game ended with a 3-1 DA victory. Kelly Howe ‘22 and Sage Piekarski ‘23 stood out for the second game in a row for their smart and tough play, and Goetzke was given the hard hat for her menacing play in all three zones. It will be a quick turnaround for the Big Green as we take on Loomis on Monday.
