Our last game of the season got off to a quick start, with both teams hustling up and down the court. Choate got ahead early on, but then Cori Scagel ‘25 equalised to bring the score to 6-6 in the fourth minute. Choate snuck ahead again after some free throws, and Deerfield struggled to overcome the Choate defense, finishing the end of the first quarter down 6-11. Sally Rolland ‘23 started the second quarter with great determination, scoring two baskets in the first 90 seconds of the quarter, but Choate picked up the pace and went ahead 21-10 by the half. The Doors fought hard to make baskets, with a highlight being Giorgia Santore’s 3-point shot, but Choate found a way through Deerfield’s defense, sinking threes and ending the third quarter 15 points ahead. Choate kept their lead to finish victorious, but we are proud of the way Deerfield played hard for the whole game, never giving up or losing focus. This team has come so far this season, and the coaches have had a blast!
