On February 12th, the boy’s thirds basketball team hosted Suffield Academy for a 2:30 tipoff in the Hale Gym. The game went similarly to the other two games earlier in the season against Suffield and Deerfield dropped a 57-32 decision. With the loss, the team’s record stand at 2-7 with 4 games remaining. Deerfield got out of the gate slowly in the 1st half, allowing Suffield to bolt out to a quick lead. Deerfield’s 4-31 shooting in the 1st half led to a 21-point deficit at half-time, 31-10. To their credit, the team never gave up and played much better in the 2nd half, shooting 9-27 from the field and only getting outscored by 4 points. Lock Grigsby ’25 and MacGregor Hynds ’25 led the way for the home team, scoring 8 and 7 points respectively. The team will be back in action on February 16th, hosting Northfield Mount Hermon for a 2:30 pm tipoff.
