In the first home game of the season, Deerfield Girls Hockey battled a strong Loomis team to a 0-0 tie. We were on our heels for much of the first period, but found our compete level in the second and began to put a lot of pressure on the Loomis goal. Both teams had good chances down the stretch, but nobody was able to find the back of the net. Notable performances include Kaley MacDonald ‘23, who was an absolute force of nature from start to finish, Keira Austen ‘26, who played with incredible poise, and Gia Thompson ‘26, whose compete level was off the charts today. Campbell Krotee ‘25 earned the shut out, and the hard hat, anchoring our defensive effort and coming up big when we needed her. Many thanks to the Krotee family for the cookies and veggie plate after the game! Next up is Millbrook at home on Friday night.
