In the second game of the Cushing tournament, Deerfield took home a 4-2 win against Worcester Academy. We started strong, scoring three times in the opening period. Gia Thompson ‘26 opened the scoring (assists to Mia Goetzke ‘24 and Keira Austen ‘26), then CC Deslauriers ‘23 sniped one (assist to Izzy Cericola ‘24). Thompson then added a short handed goal (after a lot of hard work by Goetzke). Ava Giroux ‘26 rounded out our scoring in the third period with a gritty goal (assists to Annie Dinges ‘24 and Cal Ferraris ‘23) and Lauren Sobczak ‘24 was very good in goal. Deslauriers earned the hard hat, and the team is looking forward to a tough match up against Cushing tonight for a spot in the championship game.
