This Saturday, the boys’ thirds basketball team took to the floor for the second time this season, this time playing away at Suffield Academy’s mini-tournament. We played three 20-minute, running time games against three tough opponents, Worcester Academy, Loomis-Chaffee, and host, Suffield Academy. We seemed to still be on the bus in the first game as Worcester ran us off the floor in the first game. The team did a nice job of refocusing and we played two very close games – first losing to Loomis by one – we missed a good shot to win the game on the last shot and losing the third game in a very close game to Suffield. Jesse Gachago ‘26 played in his first games for the team and really made an impact on the offensive side of the floor in the second game with some strong cuts and drives. Tucker Gongaware ‘26 showed some outside shooting prowess, making three three-points shots in the second game. Luka Kokosadze ‘25 made important contributions on both offense and defense all day. Victor Kibuuka (2026) played great in transition both to offense and defense. All in all, It was a great learning day for us and we had a lot of fun. We thank our hosts, Suffield Academy for putting on a really fun day, and all three opponents for the challenging games. We travel on Monday to play Eagle Hill for our final game before the winter break.
