Deerfield lost a hard-fought game against a talented Loomis squad this Wednesday. The Doors jumped out to an early 16-6 lead thanks to aggressive defense and excellent three-point shooting. The Pelicans stormed back to earn a 32-24 halftime score. Loomis stretched their lead to 20 early in the second half, but the Doors cut the difference to just 7 points with six minutes to play. Ultimately, the Pelicans prevailed.
Deerfield’s defensive effort was led by Theo Lewis ‘24 and Will Machnik ‘26 who played outstanding on-ball defense and sparked several fast breaks. Martin Liu ‘26 led the team in scoring with 12 points, and Max Peh ‘24 and Zhexuan Li ‘23 added 9 and 7, respectively.
