Deerfield Girls Hockey took on Millbrook in front of a big crowd at home on Friday night. It wasn’t a pretty game, but we played with good pace and did enough to earn the win. Kaley MacDonald ‘23 opened the scoring in the first period on the power play (assists to Ava Giroux ‘26 and Lauryn Broecker ‘23), then Broecker ‘23 scored a beautiful goal of her own in the second. Annie Dinges ‘24 rounded out the scoring in the third, popping in a rebound from a MacDonald shot (Giroux got the second assist). Campbell Krotee earned the win in goal, and was just about a minute away from her second consecutive shutout when Millbrook scored on the power play. Bailey Miller ‘24 had an outstanding game on defense, and Cal Ferraris ‘23 earned the hard hat for her energy and speed all game long. Many thanks to the Austen and Dinges family for the drinks and snacks! Next up is BB&N on the road on Saturday.
