After losing 1-0 late to NMH, we scored late to beat Suffield today. With about 8 minutes to go and the score 0-0, Yesung Lam played a forward ball to Caleb McDaniel on the left side of the box. Caleb made a nice turn and passed firmly to Winston Cho who juked a defender and sent a low shot by the near post. Suffield has a nice, big field which gave both teams lots of time and space. We were the better team, connectinng passes and getting into Suffield’s box with more regularity, whereas Suffield was playing mostly long balls into our half which Keepers Bob Zhang and Joe Berman handled well. Suffield did create several chances and took a few good shots. We seldom shot, despite possessing well in their half. Our best chance before the goal came on a through ball to Matteo Stewart who couldn’t quite touch it home. Once again, our back line played balanced and steady to keep a clean sheet. MacGregor Hynds was especially good with his head and tracking back on attacking balls. Kevin Gonzalez was a rock at left wing back. Senior Francis Andersons played his best game on the right wing, offering up several nice crosses and corner kicks. Overall, the game was well fought, well played and the win was the result of positive talk and persistent team play. Onto Choate for our final game of the season!
