We lost a heartbreaker to NMH in a scoreless game until the final 6 minutes when NMH scored on a free kick into our box. Keeper Joe Berman got the first touch but it wasn’t fully clear of the box and a free runner headed it in. From the opening whistle, NMH possessed the ball dangerously in our half for the first ten minutes or so, but once our legs got warm, we dispossessed them frequently and created a few chances before halftime. Winston Cho worked hard up top to earn those chances, one of which had to be cleared from NMH’s goal line by a defender. Diego Soto Lopez was also very active in the midfield and Yesung Lam became more and more assertive as the game went on. Cai Harrison played extended minutes at striker and played easily his best game of the season. He, too, had a near goal. The game was even. We played our hardest. The back line was organized and tough once again. The ball just didn’t bounce our way this time. Coach Corliss and I are extremely proud of the fight and are looking ahead to our final two matches away at Suffield and Choate.
