The boys junior B footballers continued their winning ways, beating the Bement School 4-0 for the second time this season. With the win, the team swept all four games against their in-town rivals Bement and Eaglebrook and ran their record on the season to 10-0. Neither team had a solid scoring opportunity in the opening 10 minutes, but Deerfield began to put some passes together and started to threaten the Bement net. This pressure paid off in the 14th minute when Jack Keller ’26 sent a perfect pass across the mouth of goal to set up leading scorer Matias Cushman ’25 for an easy tap-in and a 1-0 lead. A scant two minutes later, Michael Clifford-Levy ’26 doubled the Deerfield lead in the 16th minute and the score remained 2-0 at half-time. Bement remained in the game for much of the 2nd half, until Cushman netted another goal in the 54th minute for a 3-0 lead that sealed the game. Nathan Blaya ’25 added a late goal in the 63rd minute for the final 4-0 margin. Quad squad will hit the road for the last two games of the season, visiting Vermont Academy on November 5th for a 2:30 pm kickoff.
