Deerfield’s thirds team traveled down to Easthampton to face Williston’s JV team. The team knew it was entering a challenging game against a more-seasoned competitor. And with some recently-injured and recently-recovered players, the team was figuring out a somewhat new groove late in the season. Once we got on the field, we realized that the game was a good match-up for our team, but it would require aggressive moves from the offense and communication between players to meet our potential. Ultimately, Williston was able to maneuver through the holes in our defense, as they ultimately scored 4 goals in the game, while Deerfield was unable to carry out any goals, despite several impressive near-goals including one from Sammy Sullivan ’25. After a string of bitter losses, Deerfield’s thirds players keep their heads up and have a clear agenda for their practices as they enter their final week of the season.
