Deerfield traveled to Trinity College on a beautiful Saturday night to play Greenwich. The girls worked hard during the week to prepare for the game and it showed; they were fast, tough, and connected well on their passes. Deerfield found the back of the net first after Bailey Miller ’24 transitioned the ball beautifully up the field and sent a great pass to Sage Piekarski ’23 who sped by the GA defenders and cranked a shot into the back of the net. GA turned up the intensity after that though and scored their first goal before the end of the half and added another goal off a corner play at the start of the 3rd quarter. Despite Deerfield having 9 corners to GA’s 3, we couldn’t even the score before the end of the game and were disappointed with the loss. Kate MacKenzie ’24, Ella Davies ’24, Loulla Rousou ’25 and Cal Ferraris ’23 were terrific all game for the Big Green though and we look forward to improving against Williston on Wednesday.
