Deerfield traveled to Choate on Saturday for the final game of the season. The Big Green worked hard at practice to prepare for the rivalry game, and they came out strong from the first whistle. Our captains, Sage Piekarski ’23 and Charlotte Iler ‘23, took care of all the scoring in the win. Piekarski had three (one of which was assisted by Kate MacKenzie ’24) and Iler’s goal was a beautiful tip on a Piekarski shot on a corner play. It was a team win for the Big Green with everyone making important contributions on the field. Both Lauren Smith ’24 and Fev Barinova ’24 earned the shutout, and our seniors – Piekarkski, Iler, and Cal Ferraris – put forth an outstanding effort to lead the team to victory. We would like to thank our seniors for their tremendous contributions to the Deerfield field hockey program. You will be greatly missed and we can’t wait to follow your college athletic careers!
