On the 100th anniversary of the Deerfield-Choate rivalry, the Deerfield JV Field Hockey team came up short against Choate, losing 2-3. Choate started the first quarter guns ablaze, scoring two goals back to back. Deerfield answered with one goal in the final few seconds of the quarter, scored by Casey Kittredge ‘25 on the rebound. Lila King ‘24 tied the game in the second half off of a corner, assisted by Avery Zakowich ‘25. Choate scored once more in the third quarter to put themselves in the lead. Our goalies, Ashley LaBrucherie ‘23 and Juliet Amadeo ‘24, made a number of critical saves to help keep us in the game, especially in the final minutes. From start to finish, this game was a team effort, as 25 players played today. We’re incredibly proud of our season: we’ve played with energy, teamwork, and joy in each and every game. We can’t wait to do it again next year!
