In unseasonably warm weather, the Deerfield harriers raced the Hoggers of NMH for the final dual meet of the season. The boys did very well, and many of them posted season and personal bests. Of particular excitement were two milestones: Max Wang ’25 and Carson Bynum ’23 each broke well into the 16 minutes, and for the first time in program memory, 21 runners on the roster broke under 20 minutes for 5k. The Doors deserve to be extremely proud of all of their individual efforts! NMH’s strong varsity pack was able to defeat the Deerfield varsity, but only by a razor thin margin of one point, which marks a strong improvement over prior contests against the same team this season. The Deerfield JV squad defeated the Hoggers with performances that presage a strong future for the program. The runners will continue to prepare for the New England Championship meet next weekend at St. Paul’s School in Concord, NH!
