The girls varsity soccer traveled to Worcester Academy on a chilly fall afternoon. The Big Green tenaciously defended in the first half as Worcester put on the pressure. In goal, Abigail Ng ‘25 had some big stops to keep Worcester off the scoreboard.
Sammie McKee ‘24, Kaelin Creagh ‘24 and Alex Hermsdorf ‘25 had a couple of great scoring opportunities for the Big Green. Eve Andon ‘23 was take down just outside the box and the Big Green tried to go ahead with the free kick.
In the final minutes of the first half, Worcester capitalized on a great shot. At half time the score was 1-0 in favor of the home side.
The Big Green were reenergized to start the second half. Unfortunately, the Big Green conceded a goal early in the second half which gave Worcester the momentum. In the midfield, Jasmine Irizarry ‘23 ignited the Big Green with her gritty play and helped to push the Big Green forwards into the attacking third.
Unfortunately the ball did not bounce in favor of the Big Green and the final score was 4-0 for Worcester. The Big Green will travel to Exeter this Saturday for a 4pm kick-off against the Big Red.
