We finished in a tie 1-1 at home vs St. Paul’s in a game we could have won. It was 0-0 at the half with virtually no pressure on our net and much more on theirs, including some decent headers on corner kicks and some long range shots. Early in the second half, we took a tough PK call on what looked to be a clean tackle and St. Paul’s finished it well. With about 15 minutes to go, after sustained pressure by our guys, Yesung Lam finished a messy skirmish when a ball he headed came off the keeper’s hands. We had several more chances on corners and free kicks and some strong attacks from Winston Cho, but we couldn’t find the twine. Again playing without some key starters, some due to injury and others called up to Varsity, we coaches were proud of the effort and mutual support. It’s hard when the lineup is shifting around so much to find good chemistry, particularly in the midfield. We are getting healthy now though and are hopeful to rebound this week.
