On a scenic October Wednesday, Deerfield’s Third Team drove down to Suffield Academy and delivered a 5-3 win. It was a nail-biting game for both teams, as both teams were tied or one team was up by one for most of the game. After Suffield scored an early first goal within the first ten minutes, Victor Kibuuka ‘26 made a shot that Suffield’s goalie blocked, then passed to Luka Kokosadze ’25, who confidently scored Deerfield’s first goal. The two then switched roles in the next goal, as Kokosadze set Kibuuka up for a clean shot just before the first half ended. After the half, Suffield then brought the score up to 2-2, before a series of hypnotizing passes between Oscar Sanford ‘26 and Bryan Gianvecchio ’26 allowed Gianvecchio to make a stunning goal. After a foul in Suffield’s goalie box, Gianvecchio then took a powerful penalty kick that glided into the left corner of the goal. Tai Feng ’26 took the final shot in the last 5 minutes of the game, thanks to an eagerness to try out a new strategy coming from the left wing. Helpful plays by Shogo O’Connor ’25 and tenacious versatility from Finn Knight ’25 helped secure the team’s win today.
