Taft hosted Deerfield on their Fall Family Weekend. It was a beautiful day for a FH game and it was a well-played game on both sides. Deerfield thought they had scored first but ultimately had the goal called back and Taft took advantage of our disappointment and quickly transferred the ball up-field for their first goal. However, DA never let up and made some important adjustments to their game. Kate MacKenzie ‘24 tied it up in the 3rd quarter on a beautiful shot on a corner and Taft responded with a second goal before the 3rd quarter was over. DA kept working though, and ultimately tied up the game on a goal from Charlotte Iler ’23 in the fourth which sent the game to OT. Despite some early chances and strong play by MacKenzie, Ella Davies ’24, Sage Piekarski ’23, Fev Barinova ’24, Ilsa Borgen ’26, Cal Ferraris ’23, and Bailey Miller ’24, Taft earned a corner with just a few minutes left in OT and converted to win 3-2. It was a disappointing loss for DA, but they are eager to improve in their game against Worcester on Wednesday. Go Big Green!
