Deerfield took on a fast and well coached St. Paul’s team on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. The Big Green put together a great first quarter with Cal Ferraris ’23 and Sage Piekarski ’23 (assisted by Ferraris) finding the back of the net to put Deerfield up 2-0. Piekarski added another tally in the second quarter off a nice rebound from a Bailey Miller ’24 shot, but SPS responded with two goals of their own. After some back-and-forth play in the 3rd quarter, Piekarski scored again on a well-executed corner (assisted by Ella Davies ’24 and Kate Mackenzie ’24) with MacKenzie adding her own tally in the fourth quarter to seal the 5-2 victory. It was a strong team effort with Katie Bruno ’24 and Fev Barinova ’24 playing well defensively.
