Deerfield played Andover under their lights on Friday. The Big Green put together a fantastic 60-minutes of field hockey, led by our defensive unit of Loulla Rousou ’25, Ella Davies ’24, Kate MacKenzie ’24, and Lila DeLuca ’24. Andover capitalized on a defensive error in the first quarter to go up 1-0 but Deerfield kept the ball outside of our defensive end for the majority of the game. The girls pressured every ball, connected well on their passes, and had some good scoring opportunities. Midfielders Charlotte Iler ’23, Bailey Miller ’24, and Cal Ferraris ’24 played a pivotal role in our transitions, and Sage Piekarski ’23, Lauren Loh ’24, Lilly Oliver ’26, and Caitlyn Lodge ’24 did a great job up front. It was a great team effort and although the game didn’t end in a win, we were proud of our play and eager to continue improving as we prepare for Greenwich next weekend. Go Big Green!
