A diminished team fought hard this week at home, but just couldn’t catch up to the Loomis Pelicans and Choate Boars. All of the Deerfield runners who were present raced well, but the absence of so many members of the team made for a tough race. We are, however, very proud of Lillian Auth ’24 for staying with the Loomis pack to come in fifth, and of Kyla Wagstaff ’24 for achieving her goal of breaking 23’ for the first time this season. One of our captains, Kaitlyn Xia ’24, knocked 1 minute and 15 seconds off her time from the last time she raced at home, and seven other runners also achieved season best times – congratulations to all of them! We are looking forward to next week when we will travel to Exeter for a quad meet with more runners back in the ranks.
