After a picture-perfect leaf-peeping journey to Concord, NH, the Deerfield harriers stepped off the bus and hurled themselves into a race against the Pelicans of St. Paul’s School. Both varsity and junior varsity squads won their races with some effective pack racing. Standout performances from Isaac Bakare ’24 and Martin Liu ’26 rounded out the varsity seven, and many Deerfield runners from the JV ranks completed their first ever 5k competition. Alongside the positive results, the team enjoyed the opportunity to scout the course for the championship race, which will be held at St. Paul’s on the second weekend of November. Today, golden and russet leaves littered the wending paths. What a joy to behold! Next week, the Doors will host both the Pelicans from Loomis Chaffee and the Boars from Choate for a thrilling contest on Parents Weekend.
