The boys JV Hockey team played host to a small in numbers, but big in heart, Williston team. Hit by illness the visitors arrived with a very short bench. The final score was 11-0 but Deerfield wouldn’t score a goal until the 10:00 minute mark in the second period. The Williston starting goalie was outstanding and the game was a back and forth contest with the first period ending in a 0-0 tie. Jack Gammage (2) and Felix Rockefeller would score three quick goals in a two-minute spree igniting a flood of offense by the Big Green throughout the second half of the game.
There were multiple goal scorers today including Jack Gammage, Felix Rockefeller, Thomas Moreau. Freshman Evan Galli notched his first goal of the season, while goalie Will Scharfenberger cam up with the saves when he had to in preserving his first shutout of the season.
Next up for the Big Green JV team is a return match on Saturday with Choate. This game is at Choate beginning at 1:00. There is still a no spectator policy in affect on their campus so please stay at home for this one! We’ll have to work hard on Saturday to keep our momentum heading in the right direction!
