Deerfield Softball shut out Suffield Academy on Friday afternoon, defeating the visiting Tigers 4-0. Jessie Rooney dominated the pitcher’s circle, striking out 16 batters and allowing just two hits on the day.

The Deerfield offense came alive in the bottom of the 4th inning, scoring 3 runs on five hits. The Doors added an insurance run in the 6th to go ahead 4-0, and played solid defense to shut out Suffield. Deerfield finished with 8 total hits on the day.

Deerfield travels to NMH on Saturday at 2 PM.
