Down four members for this match, Girls JV Squash had a tough, 2-5 loss against Milton today.  The girls played hard in their matches, and they cheered for each other, a nice indication of a strong community of players early in the season!

#1 Isha Rao came in from the Varsity team once again to play in our #1 slot and easily defeated her opponent in three sets. #2 Zeyna Ilahi, who earned the top spot in our JV ladder, challenged her opponent in a couple of close see-saw matches in her loss. #3 Olivia Waterfall got off to a strong start by winning the first two sets; her team-mates cheered on Olivia as she fell to her opponent’s late comeback. #4 Caroline Hoff had a good start by challenging her opponent to a see-saw game in the first set, and she took an early lead in the third set in her loss. #5 Valentina Williamson dropped the first two sets but came back to win a close and competitive third set in her loss.  #6 Avery Brooker started off on a good note with a close game against her opponent, though her opponent roared back to claim victory. #7 Stella Fierro played two matches (against Milton’s #7 and #10) for us and won both of them; a highlight from her win in the #7 spot came from her comeback win from 4-7 in her second set. #8 Grace Honos also played two games (#8 and #11 from Milton) for us and did a nice job of cheering Stella on. #9 Emi Takegami easily defeated her two opponents (#9 and #12 from Milton) and came around to cheer on her team-mates.

The girls look forward to hosting Loomis on Saturday to rebound from this loss today!
