Though we battled hard, Deerfield suffered a tough loss against Choate today with a final score of 2-1. After coming off a win against NMH the team felt optimistic about the game, but it seemed Choate was a tougher opponent than expected scoring the first goal of the game halfway through the second period. Only a few minutes later Deerfield answered back with a beautiful pass by Jesse Allecia across the crease to captain Max Abene for the tying goal. With 6 minutes to go in the second and a powerplay for Deerfield, the puck took an unfortunate bounce leading to a breakaway for Choate and the game winning goal. As a final push, Deerfield goalie, John Tolve, who had an outstanding game, was pulled for an extra man to try and tie the game. With no luck Deerfield walked away with a 2-1 loss.
