On Sunday December 12, Deerfield took on Avon Old Farms at their arena. The game started off slow, but Deerfield continued to fight throughout the game. After going down early 2-0, Drew Garzone scored a man-up goal, walking in from the top of the slot, to cut the Avon lead in half. Avon responded with a quick one to open up the third period before Jessie Allecia batted down a puck mid-air to bring us down by just one goal with under three minutes remaining. No more goals were scored and the game resulted in a 2-3 loss, but a wonderfully fought effort from Deerfield.
