Every year we face Williston during our last week of our regular season play and we always find them to be a strong opponent. This year proved to be no different. The back-and-forth game was played over the entirety of our 100-yard turf, and goals came often and regularly during the four quarters of play. Lauren O’Donald ‘22 made several excellent saves in goal and Maddy Zavalick ’22 was a leader in the middle of the field. Charlotte Iler ’23 started the scoring early in the first quarter. Sage Pekarski ’23 followed with three more goals of her own. Williston answered with their own three goals, resulting in a close final score. However, Deerfield finished on top, 4 – 3, in this midweek match-up. The girls are now looking forward to their final home game on Saturday, versus Choate.
