Deerfield’s Boys Thirds Soccer traveled to Hotchkiss’s breezy soccer fields to secure yet another victory. Hotchkiss’s team put up a valiant effort, but Deerfield never let Hotchkiss get ahead. 21 minutes in, Jack Willett ’23, with an assist from Winston Cho ’24, shot the ball past Hotchkiss’s crowded defense to score the first goal. A few minutes later, a skillful corner kick from Caleb McDaniel ’24 turned into a winning shot by Cairon Harrison ’25. In the second half, Walter Burkley ’24 shot an energetic third goal, with another assist from Cho. A handful of earlier injuries and absences left Deerfield’s numbers low, especially on defense. As a result, Matt Dillon ’23, Burkley, and Cho stepped up to play for longer than normal, their energy never flagging.
