In our second (and final) contest of the season against NMH, though we let one goal squeak in (brief collapse in an otherwise super cohesive defense), we were back on the scoreboard, thanks to good communication, sharp passing, and adept coordination in the circle. First goal was scored in the first quarter from the stroke by forward Avery Zakowich ‘25; next, in quick succession, came from forward Jo Louis ‘23, who bombed down the field to put one in; third goal, in the fourth quarter, came again from Jo Louis, this time off a great pass in the circle from Brooke Stroh ‘24; and our final goal was scored forward Lila Church ‘25 with an assist from middie Haley Abraham ‘25, again on a pass in the circle. We’re teaching ourselves that we’ve got a pretty good chance of winning when — out of the gate — we’re energetic and connected, we keep our heads up to anticipate the pass to be first on the ball, and (final crucial step!) we make a decisive move in the circle — “Take the shot!” — or, head up, pass it to someone in position to do the same. Well played, everyone!
