Squash, Girls: Thirds defeats Williston

Event Details

After going ten days without a match, Deerfield returned with a resounding win on the road against the Williston Northampton School’s junior varsity team. Valentina Williamson, fresh off completing her season-long climb from the fifth spot on our ladder to the first, beat Williston’s top player in straight games. Lizzie Eudy made her much-anticipated return from injury to win her match easily. Liv Waterfall, also coming off an injury, whipped the ball across the court with staggering speed and never quit on even a single point, emerging victorious after dropping the first two games. Grace Honos was a third member of the team playing her first match in three weeks and showed no signs of rust, using her deep serves and great placement to win in three games. Team leader Kaitlyn Kelly has the misfortune of running into an opponent with the hardest serve we’ve seen all season and admirably managed to start figuring out a successful strategy but just ran out of time. We look forward to a rematch against Williston at the end of our season, but first must prepare to face the Bement School at home on Wednesday.
