In our final game before Long Winter Weekend, Deerfield looked to avenge an early season loss to Winchendon at home on Wednesday afternoon. In a very physical game, Deerfield maintained composure all the way through, and did enough to skate away with a 2-1 victory. Haley Sundstrum ’21 opened the scoring off of a rebound of a Keri Clougherty ’21 shot (Sara Ito-Bagshaw ’22 also earned an assist), and Ellia Chiang ’21 scored the winning goal on a hard drive to goal (assists to Sydney Cresta ’20 and Jackson Kinsler ’22). Clougherty earned the hard hat, and Emma Tennant ’21 was once again solid in goal. The team will now enjoy a few days off before facing a strong Westminster squad next Wednesday.
