Hockey, Boys: Junior Varsity defeats Loomis

Event Details

On Wednesday the boys JV hockey team took to the road for a late start road game with Loomis. Coming off a disappointing loss against cardigan before the long weekend the team was looking for a bounce back win and a good start to the final weeks of this season. Lawrence von Steuben was the starter in net today for the Doors and he was his usual solid self, turning away many close range shots early in the game. This was a game that never really saw the visiting Deerfield team get in its usual rhythm, but there was enough grit and determination to push us past a competitive Loomis squad to secure a 5-2 victory.

The line of Fish, Philie, and Rockefeller accounted for 4 of the goals (Aidan and Felix each had 2 goals a piece) and John Bloomer rounded out today’s scoring.

The team will use two more days of practice preparing for visiting Taft on Saturday. With only just over two weeks left in the season the team hopes to hit the .500 mark for the first time this week and play their best hockey of the year in their 5 remaining games!
