We faced a somewhat depleted Exeter squad on Saturday afternoon, word being that they were missing 4 key players due to illness. Regardless, the game was tight for most of the first half. We stretched a small lead to be up by 12 at the break. It was clear early on that it was going to be up to our bigs to win the game and that held true. In the second half, we opened with some better defensive intensity that allowed us to stretch the lead, but to their credit, Exeter never gave up and kept it tense until the final couple of minutes. We ended up with a 59-47 victory. Crawford Rice returned to his scoring ways leading all scorers with 19. Nikhil Barnes chipped in another 13 and Peter Shea followed up with 10 including a big three at the end that stretched our shrinking lead back to a comfortable margin. Also making good contributions on the day were Will Stultz and Kiernan Keller. Both played energetic defense against the Exeter guards who presented some real issues for our defense. All in all a good game for the green. Home rematch with NMH is up next!
