In a fast-paced and well-played game, Deerfield Girls Hockey earned the win against a talented New Hampton squad. The visitors got on the board first right after a power play expired, but Sydney Cresta ’20 evened the score when she poked home a loose puck in the crease (CC Deslauriers ’23 earned the assist). In the second period, Cresta fed Kailen Coelho ’20 out front, who buried the puck for the winning goal (Sara Robert ’22 earned the secondary assist). Liv Mikesell ’20 was excellent in goal, and Erin Howe ’20 had some key shifts down the stretch to help the Big Green secure the victory. Coelho earned the hard hat for her overall hustle and strong play in the offensive zone. It will be a quick turn around for Deerfield as we hit the road tomorrow morning to take on Taft. Many thanks to the Coelho family for the amazing spread of pizza, drinks, and treats after the game!
