On Saturday the Deerfield boys JV hockey team hosted Andover and came away with a well-earned 4-1 win. This was the team’s first win of the season and perhaps their best overall team effort. Deerfield led the game from start to finish. Alex Leong was outstanding in net, keeping Andover off the scoreboard until late in the game. He was supported by a defensive core that committed very few errors on the day. Alex Strait, George Darling, Ben Gissoni, Bobby Miele, Matt Gardner, and Alex Judelson battled all game committing zero penalties and keeping the Andover attack silenced.
Aidan Philie (2), Bodie Fish, and Will Lodge were the team’s goal scorers. All four lines had great effort and served Andover a balanced attack all game long.
The coaches want to commend the team for their focus today. We took only one penalty, maintained composure throughout, outworked our opponents, and had loads of fun playing a high-brand of hockey on the day. Well done! We return next week with two more home games. Williston on Wednesday and Choate on Saturday.
Go big Green!
