Basketball, Boys: Thirds loses to Eagle Hill

Event Details

On Saturday, January 25th, the boys 3rds basketball team traveled to the Eagle Hill School in Hardwick for the 2nd of two games against the Pioneers this season. Unfortunately, the road game did not go as well as the home game and Deerfield dropped a 46-33 decision, which leaves their record at 1-6 this season. It was a frustrating game for the visiting team, who just couldn’t seem to find the bottom of the net often enough and never had a lead in the game. After falling into a double-digit hole early in the game, Deerfield rallied and cut the lead to 5 at the half, 24-19. The deficit in the 2nd half varied from 3 to 10, but the team was never able to take the lead. Some late intentional fouls got EHS to the free throw line numerous times, where they hit enough to make the final margin a bit deceptive. Tysean Price ’22 had another strong game, leading the team with 15 points, including several nice drives and 3-pointers. The boys 3rds team will be back in action on January 29th, with a 3 pm home game in the Barn against Loomis.
