Another day, another tough game for our team. We knew going into the game that Worcester would put up a good fight and they did not disappoint. Every time we thought that we were starting to pull away in the first half Worcester would make some defensive stops, hit a couple of baskets and pull right back into the game. The score always felt a little deceptive as even when we were up by 10 it would feel like a closer game. We went into the halftime break up 10 and feeling good about our offense but knowing that we needed a better defensive effort in the second half to really put a decisive touch on this game. The guys responded well to the challenge and we managed to pull away to a more comfortable lead by about midway through the second half. To their credit though, Worcester never gave up the fight and played tenaciously through the whole game. The final score was a little generous to us and doesn’t really reflect how tough this game was. Compliments to both teams for a game well played. We had a good spread of scoring with 9 players getting in the scorebook. John Patton had his biggest scoring day to date with seven points and several nice rebounds. Peter Shea made big contributions offensively and on the boards throwing in 15 points. But it was really Crawford Rice who again was the big offensive force for us finishing the game with 18 points shooting 7/11 from the field. Finally, Sultan Lawal got his first points of the year on a nice drive to the hoop. All of our players have scored on the season. Thanks to all our fans who came out and provided so much positive support! Another tough game on Wednesday as we travel to Cushing.
