Deerfield kicked-off against Westminster in their second consecutive home game of the early season. The Big Green started with a chance on goal in the first minute of the game, which set the competitive attack-minded tone for the rest of the match. DA had several chances with overlapping runs and long balls down the flank. Westy had equally dangerous chances, held off by coordinated coverage with the Big Green’s backline and goalkeeper. Kelly Howe ‘22 and Annie Kane ‘20 provided the team both energy and control in the midfield. Up top, Katy Gilbert ‘20, Emma Kahle ‘22, and Ruby Chase ‘21 were relentless in their effort and pursuit of attack. The match remained scoreless for 80 minutes. Deerfield continues their home series against Taft next Wednesday.
