The boys had a tough challenge from a young, but very talented Brunswick JV squad. Deerfield jumped out to an early lead with a goal from newly-transitioned striker, Ryan Shin. After long periods of ball possession and some wonderful scoring chances, Tomas Cushman was able capitalize on a breakaway to make it 2-0 Deerfield just before halftime. The second half saw more chances and possession play from Deerfield before Brunswick really pushed back and began to impose their will. Brunswick cut the lead in half on a great individual effort from one of their forwards and eventually tied the game up at 2 with about eight minutes to play in the match. In a great show of character, resiliency, and toughness, Deerfield scored a beautiful goal on cross from Charlie Sinnott that was headed in to the corner of the net by Ryan Shin for his second of the match and a 3-2 lead. Tino Munochiveyi added an insurance goal with about two minutes left to ice the game.
